Iris Johansen's Eve Duncan series

Critics from Publishers Weekly have praised Iris Johansen for her "flesh and
bloody characters, crackling dialogue, and lean, suspensful plotting". As of now
she has had over 45 books on the New York Times Best Seller. An incredible feat
for a woman who didn't start writing until her children left for college.
By far, her Eve Duncan series is my absolute favorite. Eve Duncan is a forensic
sculptor who's mission in life is to bring closure to families whose children
have gone missing. Eve's own closure eludes her and the disappearance of her
daughter, Bonnie, shapes her life.
Joe Quinn, a former FBI Agent turned Atlanta police detective is Eve's partner
in life and in the search for her daughter.
Bonnie is the last book in a trilogy, part of a larger series. There are 19
books, to date, in this series (see list below). The lastest 3 books are a
trilogy ending with Bonnie. In Bonnie, Eve finally finds closure. The culprit is
someone I never would have guessed. Eve is joined in the hunt by her love, Joe
Quinn, Bonnie's father, and her friend, and CIA operative, Catherine Ling. Eve
and friends travel from Wisconsin to the swamps of Louisianna to Texas and back
home to Georgia. And, the ride is exhilirating.
The only thing I wished I had known is to wait to read Quinn until Bonnie came
out. I felt, at the end of Quinn, there was no resolution. Bonnie continues
right where Quinn leaves off so read them back to back. Also, if you read Quinn
when it came out don't worry about rereading it to refresh your memory, the
first 20 pages or so repeat the end of Quinn.
